The price of obtaining an education has skyrocketed! One of the most shocking experiences for the new student it finding out how expensive books will be for required classes. Of course the college bookstore wants the student to think that they are the only source for college texts, however, there are many other sources. Cheap textbooks are available online and many times at a fraction of the cost charged by the campus store.
The campus store will try to raise price of textbooks since they know students must have them for success in the classroom. They also tend to make the student think that obtaining them somewhere else would be a mistake. But the exact book is available online at a much cheaper price.
Before getting stuck in the trap of purchasing books at the campus store, check out textbook prices online at sites like We Compare Books; here students will find the same books containing the same materials made available by the same publishers, only at a fraction of the cost. At We Compare Books all the work is done for the student. They have already compiled a listing of the textbooks and their prices. It takes all the guesswork out and simplifies the process for students. Students can purchase the textbooks that are necessary for classes at a fraction of the campus store’s price.
Purchasing your textbooks at We Compare Books is simple and will save a bundle of money. The student can rest assured that the best possible price is available and displayed online. This saves time as well as money since all the necessary books can be purchased on one site.
To purchase cheap textbooks simply go to We Compare Books and search using the author and title of the book. Click on the link for the book to expand and view the available sources and the cheapest prices for any textbook. It’s simple and much cheaper by making the purchase on line.

It’s not that the campus bookstores charge outrageous prices. Most of the time they are pretty reasonable. But you can definitely find cheaper textbooks online. Good post. You’re providing a very useful resource to students.
Jeffrey,
When’s the last time you purchased a science book in a campus bookstore? These days it will typically run you upwards of $150! whereas online you’d be able to find the same book (often) for half price!
I’m not sure how exactly you define “reasonable” LOL
But thanks for the comment!
You are right, college bookstores are a business and like any business their job is to make a profit. And that is the problem! The way that it worked in the old days was that the bookstores were run by the college and any profit went back to the school, this helped to lower tuition, student fees…
Today most colleges have outsourced their bookstores to be run by for profit companies who gouge the students in every way that they can and who do not profit share with the schools.
This unholly alliance between colleges and for profit private college bookstores are a recipe for ever increasing textbook costs!
