BEST MATH REVIEW EVER!!!!

Rating: 100%

Without going into great detail I will just simply say if you want to improve your Quantitative score then BUY this book. Even if you just want to get better at math, this book is a GREAT help and the price is far more then reasonable. So seriously buy the book.

Excellent book. A must have for GRE review.

Rating: 100%

I would highly recommend this book for anyone taking the GRE. The book is in depth, systematically organized, and has a smart approach in its practice tests with reference pages for where to review and see where you went wrong. Barrons math section drove me insane and frustrated me enormously. Princeton does well explaining, but does not go nearly in depth enough if you want 600+ scores on the GRE. This book makes it all feel easy and doable. Plus you can get it so cheap used, dont hesitate. Also, give yourself 6 weeks to work through book. Maybe 4 weeks minimum, but this book does cover a lot of subjects. Thanks to all the other reviewers who convinced me to buy this. Totally worth it.

This particular book had a great price the only problem was there was no notification that the book was sold. In addition, the website indicated there were books available, plus I had to wait at least 15 days. I bought the same book at Barnes and Noble with free shipping and the book arrived at my house within three business days. Sorry Amazon.

Absolutely Fantastic

Rating: 100%

I love the layout of this book. Excellent way to review quick and easy. I bought this book to help me refresh my memory since it's been years since I had applied this kind of math. I highly recommend this book to help prepare yourself for any sort of placement math exam. Especially for those who need a hard core refresher course.

Good For Its Purpose

Rating: 100%

I've studied a good bit of mathematics, to the level of differential equations and beyond, but the problem is that my last math class was two decades ago. I recently concluded that math ability is far too important to let it decay so, on the "use it or lose it" principle, I decided to do a systematic review of the math I learned in my younger years, starting with the very basics.

I chose this particular book to start with, since it covers basic precalculus math at a fairly elementary level (doesn't even cover logarithms). As such, I'm not the typical reader/reviewer for this book, since I'm not preparing for a standardized test.

Pretty much as I expected, I did find the book to be rather elementary, and I was able to go through it fairly quickly. The material was generally familiar to me, though I did pick up a few things which I'd forgotten (or never learned?). I solved many of the practice problems, but not all of them, since they become repetitive after a while and I didn't need much practice to jog my memory. I also just skimmed through the strategy sections at the end of the book, since I was usually able to apply my own strategies (from experience) which are simpler and quicker.

Overall, I think this book has been put together well, so I can recommend it and I can see why it has high Amazon ratings. I imagine that it's a good book for its target audience (those preparing for standardized tests), but I'm not the best person to judge that. For my own purposes, the book was also useful but, again, it was very elementary, so it's only a starting point for self-directed systematic math review.
