Pleasing
The Ghost
By: Josh, Zane, Brooks, and Bailey
Pleasing The Ghost was an OK book. Dennis, a young boy has had many ghost encounters but not one has been a family member. When Uncle Arvie blows through Dennis' window, he has three pleases to ask of. Because Uncle Arvie has had a stroke, Dennis must decode the pleases to complete them. Dennis is also having problems, with a mean kid named Billy Baker. This book was written by the Newberry Honor Award winning author Sharon Creech. This book takes you on a magical adventure that will bring your loved ones to you.

Fine, but not Creech's best
A favorite YA author of this reader since picking up her terrific Walk Two Moons, this is the third or fourth of hers I've read. It's a short, sweet book, but what makes it sweet also makes it not easy to understand. That's by design. A boy is visited by ghosts. The one this story focuses on is his uncle, not his first choice of ghosts since his father passed away not long ago. Anyway, the ghost uncle had a stroke before dying and has not overcome the barriers of expressing himself since joining the hereafter. He has quirky speech, consistent, but only to himself, and slowly to his nephew. It is a paradox for the reader, too. What DID he mean by that? The nephew takes on helping the uncle with three requests. He also deals with a bully who has his own issues, and the deceased uncle's wife, who has a new romantic interest It's good, pleasant, and I'd recommend it, but it's a far cry from Walk Two Moons' wonderfulness.

A Real Pleaser!
The book I'm reviewing is Pleasing the Ghost written by Sharon Creech. I gave this book five stars because it is terrific. This book is about a boy who is always seeing ghosts in his bedroom. Then one day his Uncle Arrive, who is dead, comes into his room. What do you think will happen? A problem in this story is that Uncle Arrive's wife that is alive is dating another man and Uncle Arrive gets really mad. I recommend this book to people who love Sharon Creech books. Other books that Sharon Creech wrote are Ruby Holler and Granny Torrelli Makes Soup.
